BT has ended free TNT Sports access for a group of its longest-serving broadband customers. From 16 October, those affected can either give up the sports add-on or continue watching for £15 a month.
BT told customers that the promotion attached to their TNT Sports Pack had come to an end. The new £15 price is offered on a 30-day rolling contract and remains considerably cheaper than the standard price available to somebody subscribing today.
The free offer has had an unusually long life. It began around the time BT Sport launched in 2013 and survived years of broadband renewals, the change from BT Sport to TNT Sports and the move from discovery+ to HBO Max.

Is TNT Sports worth £15 a month?
For regular viewers, the answer may well be yes. At the time of writing, BT charges £30.99 for standalone monthly access to TNT Sports through HBO Max. The £15 price offered to these existing customers is less than half that amount.
The calculation is rather different for somebody who kept the free perk but rarely watched it. Paying £15 a month adds £180 to the annual household bill, so affected customers should consider whether the football, rugby, UFC and other live sport will receive enough use to justify it.
This change does not apply to every BT broadband customer. It concerns people who retained a particular old promotion through repeated contract renewals. The TNT Sports subscription is separate from their broadband contract and can be cancelled on its own.
